James Adaskaveg
Professor and Plant Pathologist @University of California, Riverside
Research of Dr. Adaskaveg focuses on diseases of tree crops grown in California. Specifically, the biology, epidemiology, and management of pre- and postharvest foliar and root diseases caused by fungal and bacterial pathogens. This includes studies on mycology, ultra-structure of host-pathogen relationships, biology of wood decay fungi, biological and molecular techniques for the detection and identification of pathogens, as well as development of disease forecasting programs and of innovative management practices. Research on disease management has resulted in the registration of new pre- and postharvest fungicides and has been helping in the certification of fruit exports to selected international markets.
