Could these instructions be sent in a follow up e-mail after our meeting?
Socorro Gutierrez
36:56
Afreed, I missed the first one, please.
Haley Kerr (she/her)
37:52
Is there an expectation that we will ask teachers to also make these changes if we are guests in their zoom classrooms? Or is this just if we are hosting?
MaryAnn Mills (she/her)
44:26
That is correct, Lyn!
Haley Kerr (she/her)
44:37
Thanks!
Melissa Rorabough
46:56
We really like the nearpod lessons that are for up4it!
Shirley Salado
47:50
The PP slides got all of us to a great start! It is also nice to have the ability to add and enrich those slide specifically to the Educator
Hannah Lee
48:11
For classes that use Zoom I love the PPTs! Everyone did a fabulous job! I haven't been using the PPTs as much as I expected because one of the districts I workwith only uses teams, which makes sharing screens difficult. I sometimes share the screen, then stop it to talk with students, and repeat, but this can be challenging at times.

Used EPT PowerPoints for parent lessons and they have enjoyed the visuals and are engaged in the lesson. They unmute and answer questions or chat in answers
Melissa Rorabough
50:16
We have been using the Serving up MyPlate videos for some of our lessons. We have split them up a little because they are long, but the content is great!
Robert Tapia
50:19
lesson videos have been easy to follow for students that are non native English speakers
Monica Drazba
50:19
I've offered the pre-recorded videos to each of our extenders who use MAB and GFMY, but they all prefer guest lessons right now.
Haley Kerr (she/her)
50:51
Since I have been leading lessons and I have PowerPoint, I do not use the vids
Max Fairbee
50:52
I haven't used them yet as I just began teaching the EHBA workshops yesterday. But I expect to have more participants next class and hope to share them with participants to get caught up.
Nancy Zumkeller
50:54
We have been doing more live virtual lessons
Shirley Salado
51:00
Teachers are still working out a lot if issues….
Katy Munniks
51:02
Most of our participants want live class
Hannah Lee
51:05
I teach most lessons live so I haven't been using them
Mary Vollinger
51:06
I'm curious if videos will be used more in the hybrid model rather than in all virtual lessons.
Hannah Lee
51:13
I'm hoping teachers will use them more independently
Socorro Gutierrez
51:24
Videos work well for keeping participants interest.
Natalie M Price
51:35
Internet connections are slow and educators feel it goes best to keep things simple
Nancy Zumkeller
53:42
Has anyone been successful in using fillable PDF's using Microsoft Teams?
Nancy Zumkeller
54:54
Fresno is finding MS and HS teachers are the most interested in the fillable PDF's
Hannah Lee
55:28
I think so, Lyn. I find having too many elements makes the class complicated and frustrates young students.
Katy Munniks
55:55
Agree
Adan Osoria
56:00
@nancy whats the context - are you trying to post a PDF on team or fill in a PDF during a live session?
Nancy Zumkeller
56:28
Thanks Adan, Robert Tapia can answer that
Monica Drazba
56:52
I've been using the virtual worksheets for MAB and GFMY during my live lessons and it's been a useful way to diversify my presentation style
Molica Sim
57:17
teachers prefer to have students complete assignments on paper since they are on the computer for a large part of the day
Stella
57:37
Yes, agree
Jackie Barahona
57:45
We've also been using the virtual worksheets for MAB & GFMY during live lessons. They have been useful! We have also created additional worksheets.
Daisy Valdez
57:53
I second that Molica, teachers prefer the live classes. Teachers try to avoid giving the students additional material outside class time.
Jackie Barahona
58:10
Yes!
Robert Tapia
58:16
@Adan the teachers want to use them as a supplement for when they assign the lessons as homework. since they would have to individually grade or open pictures of workbooks they want it to be easier for them to gather and grade work.
Maricarmen Anaya
58:55
Thank you! I'm been using PSSC, MPMF and EPT PowerPoints.
Adan Osoria
01:00:53
@Robert ah. I think teachers could post the PDF itself as an assignment on Teams but I don't know if teams itself has a built in PDF filling feature. Students would have to fill it in using Adobe or something and upload to the assignment I think
Nancy Zumkeller
01:01:37
Thank you Adan!
Adan Osoria
01:01:59
no problem
Robert Tapia
01:02:16
the district doesn't have an adobe licenses for students to be able to do that from my knowledge. I can look into it to make sure they do.
Dalila Lizarraga Alarcon

I registered for mindful pause on wednesdays from 1245 to 1pm!
Itzel Palacios Sanchez
01:03:37
Kami is a great alternative to Adobe for students. It's a Google extension and free with their Google account
Adan Osoria
01:03:39
yeah the adobe thing is confusing. I have Adobe Pro and it's possible to make PDFs fillable using the adobe free version but it's hard to tell if students even have the free version installed
Nicole Ogosi
01:03:45
The live mindfulness is helpful to unwind from the work day
Shirley Salado
01:04:35
@Dalila how can we register mindful pause? Where?
Cashmir Whittle
01:04:49
Can the fillable forms be reformatted to a fillable word doc?
Rita Palmer
01:05:16
Good question, @Cashmir
Adan Osoria
01:05:51
it's possible to export as a doc but it will take some work reformatting the content since it doesn't always do the best job
Shirley Salado
01:06:26
Great, thanks!
